Our Team
Kelly Marie Brown retired from her longtime career as Office Manager and Senior Paralegal in April 2022 after many years of dedicated service to clients and the community.
Today, she devotes much of her time to charitable work, animal rescue, conservation, and her family.
Born in Valdosta, Georgia, and raised on Hilton Head Island from the age of four, Kelly attended Hilton Head High School, the Technical College of the Lowcountry, and the University of South Carolina. During those years, she worked in veterinary emergency clinics while volunteering with animal shelters throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry, beginning a lifelong commitment to animal welfare that continues today.
In September 2022, Kelly founded the Animal Care Fund of Hampton County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of neglected, abandoned, and homeless animals throughout Hampton County. Under her leadership, the organization has made a significant impact on animal welfare in the region. Through its Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program alone, more than 450 cats have been spayed or neutered, helping to reduce overpopulation and improve the health of community cat colonies. The organization has also assisted more than 85 dogs through rescue, fostering, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and placement efforts. Kelly considers the growth and success of the Animal Care Fund to be one of her most meaningful accomplishments.
An accomplished writer and photographer, Kelly has contributed articles and photographs to South Carolina Wildlife Magazine and various local publications. Her photography has earned numerous awards and accolades, including the distinction of having two photographs selected for National Geographic's renowned "Daily Dozen."
Kelly has long been active in community service and volunteer work. She is a past Co-Chair of Hampton County Relay for Life and remains active with the Magnolia Garden Club of Varnville. She also volunteers whenever needed at Patrick Henry Academy and continues to support conservation and wildlife rehabilitation efforts throughout the Lowcountry.
In the spring of 2025, Kelly joined the Board of Directors of Second Helpings, an organization dedicated to rescuing surplus food and distributing it to food-insecure families throughout the region. Through its efforts, Second Helpings rescued more than four million pounds of food in 2025, helping provide meals and assistance to those in need across the South Carolina Lowcountry.
At home, Kelly and her family remain deeply committed to conservation and agricultural heritage. On their family farm, they raise heritage Piney Woods cattle and Holland Chickens in cooperation with The Livestock Conservancy, helping preserve rare and historic livestock breeds for future generations. Their home is also shared with nine cats, Spud, a bottle-fed Carolina Dog, and a rescued hound known as Handsome Pete.
Above all else, Kelly treasures time spent with her family. She and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Kelly considers her four grandchildren, Lily, Arjuna, Amelia, and Sophia, to be life's greatest blessing and her greatest source of pride and joy.
