Anderson & Brown, LLC traces its roots to 1966, when William C. Anderson, Jr. returned to his native Hampton County after serving his country as a Captain in the United States Army and established his law practice in Hampton, South Carolina. For more than three decades, Mr. Anderson served individuals, families, businesses, farmers, landowners, and local governments throughout the Lowcountry and surrounding region.
In 2002, Kevin A. Brown returned home to Hampton and joined Mr. Anderson's practice. Together they formed Anderson & Brown, LLC in 2004, combining a shared commitment to professional excellence, personal service, and community involvement. The two practiced together until Mr. Anderson's passing in 2008.
Today, under the leadership of Kevin A. Brown, Anderson & Brown, LLC continues to serve clients across South Carolina in the areas of real estate law, probate and estate administration, business law, municipal law, conservation transactions, and related legal matters. The firm has developed particular experience representing landowners, conservation organizations, and governmental entities in conservation easements, habitat protection projects, agricultural and timberland transactions, and other efforts designed to preserve South Carolina's natural and historic resources for future generations.
Throughout its history, the firm has remained deeply connected to the Hampton community while serving clients throughout the state.
In 2026, Anderson & Brown relocated its offices to 100 Oak Street East in Hampton, the meticulously restored original school building for the children of the Town of Hampton. Constructed around 1878, the historic structure stands as one of the community's most significant surviving landmarks and reflects the firm's commitment to preservation, stewardship, and investment in the future of Hampton while honoring its past.
More than sixty years after its founding, Anderson & Brown continues to build on the principles established by William C. Anderson, Jr.: integrity, service, professionalism, and a dedication to the people, land, and communities of South Carolina.
